Walker Consultants seeks a skilled Accountant to join our finance team. The role requires accuracy in financial records, strong analytical abilities, and collaboration across departments to inform strategic decisions.

The position offers hybrid work in a collaborative office environment, with opportunities to implement AI-driven automation and improve financial processes. A Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP software (Deltek is a plus).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word).
• Experience with Copilot, ChatGPT, Power BI or similar dashboards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with weekly, monthly, yearly accounting processes (AP, expense reports).
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.
• Manage state and local city registrations, licenses, and related tax filings.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, monitoring performance against targets.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
• Assist with design and implementation of AI automation tools.
• Participate in tasks and research with the current Strategic Plan implementation.
• Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Accounting on process improvements and automation.
• Utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance financial analysis and reporting.
