Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineer to be based in New York, NY. Under general supervision, you will perform routine duties and apply sound professional judgment to construction projects, ensuring conformance with specifications and design.

You will coordinate with contractors and stakeholders, monitor codes and safety regulations, and assist in budgeting and change order management. This hybrid role requires effective documentation and client updates throughout project phases.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus two years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Knowledge of procedures and regulations for removing hazardous materials such as lead-based paint, mold and asbestos.
• Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures.
• Experience in project scheduling, cost estimating.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs routine duties and applies sound professional judgment to construction projects.
• Monitors compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and contractual requirements throughout all project phases.
• Coordinates with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure timely execution and resolution of construction-related issues.
• Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and correspondence for regulatory and administrative purposes.
• Assists in budget tracking, cost analysis, and change order management to support project financial controls.
• Participates in site meetings and provides progress updates to project management and client representatives.
