Job summary

Orion Placement, a confidential boutique litigation firm in Cleveland, OH, seeks an attorney with 3+ years of sophisticated litigation experience to handle complex commercial and employment matters. This role offers direct client responsibility and meaningful courtroom exposure.

You will draft pleadings, develop case strategy, manage deadlines, and work in a hybrid environment with relocation assistance possible for the right candidate. J.D. and bar admission required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of sophisticated litigation experience.
• Meaningful experience handling sophisticated complex commercial litigation, business litigation, employment litigation, or white-collar defense.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Experience handling substantive discovery and motion practice.
• Ability to take meaningful ownership of complex matters with limited training.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
• BigLaw or MidLaw litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Strong academic credentials preferred.
• Trial or arbitration experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle sophisticated commercial and business litigation matters from early case assessment through resolution.
• Develop case strategy and take meaningful ownership of assigned matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other substantive litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex factual and legal issues.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Communicate directly with clients and develop trusted client relationships.
• Work closely with experienced attorneys on complex commercial disputes and other sophisticated litigation.
• Manage deadlines, discovery, motion practice, and competing case priorities.
• Contribute to employment litigation and white-collar matters depending on experience and interest.
