Job summary

Tangram Flex is seeking a Software Engineer with Language Development Experience to design, develop, and optimize core interpreter/transpiler infrastructure and language toolchains. This role sits at the crossroads of programming language design, hardware architecture, and systems engineering, transforming high-level ideas into efficient machine code.

You will collaborate with software and hardware teams to turn design intent into verified software, contribute to DSL features, and help advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 3+ years on compilers, interpreters, or transpilers for parallel architectures.
• U.S. Government security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Proficiency in systems programming languages (C, C++, Rust).
• Deep understanding of interpreter/transpiler architectures.
• Knowledge of x86/ARM/RISC-V and assembly language.
• Willingness to travel occasionally; Dayton, Ohio-based work.

Responsibilities

• Read, write, and optimize high-quality code in C, C++, Rust, and Python.
• Design and maintain interpreter components and code generators.
• Analyze IR and optimize performance with target-specific techniques.
• Support toolchains, build systems, debuggers, and runtime infrastructure.
• Collaborate across hardware, systems, and software teams.
• Develop and run unit, regression, and benchmark tests.
