Job summary

Toole Design, Inc. in Portland, OR, is seeking a Marketing and Communications Writer who loves shaping stories and explaining complex transportation projects to public audiences and decision-makers.

In this hybrid role, you’ll write newsletters, webpages, video scripts, and social content, collaborating with planners and engineers to plan and deliver clear, on-message communications across client and corporate work.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or similar relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience writing and editing public-facing content.
• Experience working within a defined brand and style.
• Familiarity with digital marketing tools including email platforms (Mailchimp), social media schedulers (Agorapulse, Meta Business Suite), website platforms (Squarespace, Wordpress), analytics (Google Analytics), and CRM systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• A collaborative approach to generating strategies and developing creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Write across a variety of formats, from newsletters and webpages to video scripts and social media.
• Plan and produce content that shows who we are and what we do, on both corporate and client projects.
• Collaborate with planners and engineers to translate technical ideas into clear, engaging writing for public audiences.
