Job summary

Grantmakers In Health (GIH) is seeking a Communications Specialist to develop digital and print content and support media outreach. The role collaborates with the Communications Director and CRM/Website Admin to update the database and coordinate content for marquee events in a hybrid Washington, DC setting.

You will author website content, edit newsletters, manage social channels, and draft media materials while ensuring brand consistency and leveraging WordPress/Drupal, Mailchimp, and Adobe

Qualifications

• Three years of nonprofit, government, or foundation comms experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong editing and proofreading, Chicago/AP styles.
• Social media management experience across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook.
• CMS content creation with WordPress or Drupal.
• Email marketing platforms (Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, or ClickDimensions).
• Familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, InDesign; MS Office / Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Author and build website content and edit email newsletters.
• Manage GIH's social media channels and campaigns.
• Assist in creating and producing the GIH Bulletin.
• Develop and maintain media lists; respond to press inquiries.
• Draft media backgrounders for interviews with press.
• Coordinate updates to constituent/organizational data with CRM/Website Admin.
• Provide on-the-ground comms coverage at marquee events.
