Job summary

American Fidelity is seeking a Communications professional for a hybrid role focused on coordinating internal and external communications to enhance public visibility and understanding of our culture, products, and goals.

The role involves leading teams in planning employer-focused initiatives, coordinating company events and sponsorships, and supporting volunteer activities that reinforce American Fidelity as a Great Place to Work. Travel and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing or public relations.
• 3+ years of job-specific communications experience.
• Proficiency with PC Windows-based software, including Excel, Word and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn industry-specific software.
• Creative writing and strong grammar for various media.
• Knowledge of website, email and SMS creation and management software.
• Knowledge of media protocols.
• Willingness to travel.
• Flexible to work extended or irregular hours.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist in coordinating internal and external communications and Colleague Relations efforts designed to improve AF’s public visibility and Colleague, community, and Customer understanding of the Company’s culture, products, services and goals.
• Lead or serve on teams designed to enhance and support AF’s Employer of Choice Initiative including the planning and implementation of Company and community events and sponsorships like Colleague annual meetings, Bring Your Kids to Work Day, Company-wide and recognition events, volunteer activities and other Employer of Choice related events and programs.
