Job summary

West Bend Insurance Company is expanding its Commercial Lines Underwriting team. This hybrid role operates within 50 miles of West Bend, Madison, or Appleton offices, supporting profitable growth through relationship-driven underwriting.

The role requires 3 years in commercial multi-line underwriting, strong communication, and mentoring abilities, plus a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Insurance and related certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance or related field.
• Certificate in General Insurance and Associate in Underwriting program.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business submissions, renewals and endorsements.
• Oversee growth and profitability of an underwriting territory.
• Use internal and external data and reporting to support decision-making.
• Document underwriting files with detail and clarity.
• Provide territory performance reports and action plans to leadership.
• Collaborate with sales, claims, loss control, and agency partners.
• Lead agency visits and promote product line benefits and growth/incentive efforts.
• Maintain compliance with underwriting guidelines, rate plans, and LOA.
• Mentor new associates and support training.
• Participate in committees and enterprise initiatives.
• Navigate conflict and contribute to team solutions.
