Job summary

West Bend Insurance Company is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our growing team. This hybrid role can be based in West Bend, Madison, or Appleton, WI, with collaboration days and in-person meetings as needed.

You will underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements, monitor territory profitability, and partner with sales, claims, and agency partners. A Bachelor's degree in Business/Insurance and 3 years of underwriting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or related field is preferred.
• Certificate in General Insurance and Associate in Underwriting are desirable.
• Experience in commercial multi-line underwriting is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business submissions, renewals and endorsements.
• Oversee growth and profitability of an underwriting territory.
• Use internal and external data and reporting to support decision-making.
• Document underwriting files with sufficient detail and clarity.
• Provide territory performance reports and action plans to leadership.
• Collaborate with sales, claims, loss control, and agency partners.
• Lead agency visits and promote product line benefits and growth/incentive efforts.
