Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join our Riverhead office, handling a sophisticated civil litigation docket with meaningful responsibility and courtroom exposure.

The ideal candidate has 2–10 years of civil litigation experience, a NY Bar admission, and a background in commercial litigation, insurance defense, construction, breach of contract, or real estate disputes. Excellent writing and advocacy skills are required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor with active NY bar admission.
• 2–10 years of civil litigation experience.
• Background in commercial litigation, insurance defense, construction, breach of contract, or real estate disputes.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, including experience using Lexis.
• Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently in a fast paced litigation environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle a commercial litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Handle pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
• Work on matters involving commercial disputes, construction litigation, contract claims, and real estate related litigation.
• Conduct and defend depositions and assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a team oriented, high accountability environment.
