Job summary

Straughan Environmental, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Coastal Resilience Specialist to help plan, design, and implement nature-based and hybrid infrastructure solutions for coastal resilience projects.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams on coastal wetlands, living shorelines, and green infrastructure, performing field assessments, modeling, permitting, and stakeholder coordination. We value collaboration and innovative, sustainable approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and field assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects on nature-based and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
• Support planning, budgeting, and execution of coastal and water resources projects.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, SWMM, ADCIRC, Delft3D).
• Design living shorelines and wetland restoration projects.
• Coordinate with ecologists, GIS specialists, and stakeholders.
• Support environmental permitting at local, state, and federal levels.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development.
