Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Data Engineer Co-op on the Emerging Technology team in a Hybrid setting. You will help build a Modern Data Platform enabling trusted data for analytics and AI tools, and you’ll work with real health system data used across RRH.

You will develop data pipelines, automate tasks, and build dashboards (Power BI) to track AI adoption, while learning cloud tooling and best practices in a health system context.

Qualifications

• Student at RIT enrolled in Rochester Institute of Technology.
• Familiar with Python, SQL, Git and GitHub, APIs and JSON, data analysis and visualization, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), automation and scripting, Power BI, Looker or Tableau, Snowflake, Docker, GitHub Actions.
• Able to solve problems independently and explain work clearly to others.
• Has built projects outside the classroom and can explain how they work.
• Uses AI development tools to learn and build faster.
• Communicates technical ideas well, in writing and speaking.
• Curious, self-motivated, eager to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL and cloud tools.
• Help prepare and validate data for analytics and AI use cases.
• Build dashboards and reports (Power BI) on AI adoption and usage.
• Automate repetitive data tasks with scripts and GitHub Actions.
• Document how pipelines work so others can run and extend them.
• Collaborate with Emerging Technology team and IT Applications data engineers; explain work to non-technical partners.
