Job summary

NACBA is looking for a Co-Executive Director for Sponsored Projects Accounting to lead operational compliance and financial management for research funding. In this role, you will manage junior grant managers and enhance automated systems for tracking post-award metrics.

The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, a decade of relevant experience, and strong leadership capabilities. Hybrid work may be available post-probation.

Qualifications

• 10 years of progressive experience in a related field required.
• Experience in an academic and/or medical center environment preferred.
• Supervisory or project management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee post-award accounting functions and ensure policy compliance.
• Directly manage junior grant managers for invoicing and reporting.
• Optimize accounting pathways through financial models and data reports.
• Collaborate with teams to implement financial management systems.
• Develop training programs for new junior grant managers.

Skills

Expertise in accounting practices

Deep knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance

Advanced understanding of OMB Single Audit

Analytical skills for interpreting accounting data

Proven ability to lead teams

Leverages advanced software and AI tools

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Master's degree or CPA preferred
