Job summary

Zone 5 Technologies seeks a Platform Engineer to architect and operate scalable compute infrastructure powering our autonomous vehicle simulation framework. You will build elastic compute across AWS and on‑prem clusters, enabling teams to iterate on autonomy software through massive parallel workloads.

You’ll design and implement CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and Kubernetes-based orchestration, while optimizing cost, security, and reliability in a hybrid cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in CS/engineering.
• 2-5+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud infra.
• Strong Kubernetes and cloud platform experience.
• Linux admin and troubleshooting expertise.
• Familiar with IaC, scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design elastic compute infra for simulation workloads across cloud and on‑prem.
• Build on‑prem GPUs/CPUs clusters for simulation and ML training.
• Architect hybrid cloud solutions optimizing cost and performance.
• Implement Kubernetes-based orchestration for thousands of simulations.
• Develop data pipelines and monitoring for fleet health and resource use.
