Job summary

Lennar in Miami seeks a Cloud Engineer for the Developer Experience team to build and operate the Internal Developer Platform (IDP). You will enhance the developer portal, pipelines, and IaC tooling for Lennar’s engineering teams, enabling self-service app creation and standard deployment practices.

The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, security-conscious CI/CD, and hands-on work with Backstage and AWS services. This is an in-person role based in Miami with a 3 days in-office schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 2–3 years of software, DevOps, or platform engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one language (TypeScript, Python, or Go).
• Hands-on with GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
• Hands-on with Terraform for IaC.
• Familiarity with AWS services (IAM, containers, serverless).
• Knowledge of IDP concepts; Backstage is a plus.
• Good software engineering practices: version control, code reviews, automated testing.
• Ability to troubleshoot build/deploy/pipeline failures independently.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features of the internal developer portal, including plugins and templates.
• Create reusable service templates for self-service apps and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions across teams.
• Support GitHub Enterprise administration, including access provisioning and policy enforcement.
• Develop infrastructure as code with Terraform; reusable modules and workspace automation.
• Integrate security scanning into CI/CD pipelines and address findings.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting standards for platform services.
• Contribute to automated testing frameworks and quality checks.
• Help measure developer productivity and platform adoption via dashboards.
• Participate in design reviews and write documentation/runbooks for owned components.
• Review InnerSource contributions and mentor Level I engineers.
