Job summary

National Indemnity Company in Omaha, NE is seeking a Systems Engineer to manage Windows-based servers and middleware, install and maintain operating systems, and ensure reliable user environments in a hybrid work setting.

You will lead technical initiatives, mentor staff, analyze inefficiencies, and coordinate maintenance projects to keep systems current and secure, with 50% in-office attendance and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of related work experience.
• Experience with Windows Server OS administration.
• Experience with enterprise software installation and administration.
• Basic operation of Microsoft Office and other productivity software.

Responsibilities

• Act as systems engineer for Windows-based servers and middleware applications.
• Install, administer, and maintain operating systems and middleware software to provide required capabilities for the user environment.
• Analyze and identify inefficiencies or problems within middleware systems, determine solutions, and work to resolve issues.
• Provide technical instructions and training to other support staff, offering leadership and mentoring as needed.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems during and outside of working hours based on urgency or nature of the situation.
• Initiate projects, develop project plans, and execute maintenance tasks to keep systems current and secure.
