Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Network Engineer to design, deploy, and support a hybrid networking environment focused on on-prem data centers, campus networks, and SD-WAN with Azure cloud integration. You will bridge on-prem, branch, and cloud environments.

The role requires 4–6 years in network engineering with Azure networking and multi-cloud experience, and will be based in Warrenville, IL (onsite). A strong emphasis on documentation, collaboration, and delivering reliable connectivity is

Qualifications

4–6 years in network engineering with Azure networking.
Hands-on WAN/LAN and vWAN for enterprise scale.
Strong routing knowledge: BGP, SMB, DNS, IPsec, OSPF.
Experience with ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, NGFW.
Multi-region cloud networking design experience.
Familiarity with network segmentation and SD-WAN QoS.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Multi-cloud networking (AWS/GCP) a plus.
AZ-700 certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain Azure routing policies, particularly for vWAN architectures.
Configure and manage Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute.
Configure BGP routing, dynamic routing policies, and route propagation between SD-WAN campus and data center edges and cloud hubs.
Troubleshoot routing, latency, and connectivity issues across on-prem and cloud environments.
Monitor network performance and capacity.
Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
Respond to escalated network incidents.
Partner with cloud, security, and application teams on network-related projects and migrations.
