Job summary

DC Water's IT team seeks a Cloud & Infrastructure Systems Administrator to steward a hybrid cloud environment, covering design, deployment, and ongoing optimization of VMs, storage, and identity services across on-premises and cloud platforms.

You will implement IaC (Terraform), automate tasks with PowerShell and Python, and work with Splunk/Azure Monitor for proactive ops. Experience with Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise systems administration.
• Experience with Azure and AWS.
• Proficient in PowerShell and Python scripting.
• Knowledge of IaC with Terraform.
• Strong understanding of security, IAM, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure Management: Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure and AWS environments across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Terraform to provision infrastructure and enforce configuration.
• AI for Operations (AIOps): Utilize AI-powered monitoring and log analysis platforms to detect anomalies and automate incident response.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Deploy and manage Docker containers and orchestrate with Kubernetes for scalability.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce security policies, manage Azure AD and IAM, ensure encryption and regular audits.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Design and test DR/BC plans for cloud-native and on-premise systems.
• Virtualization and Server Administration: Administer VMware vSphere and Windows Server environments, ensuring patching and performance.
• Collaboration and Improvement: Work with DevOps/SecOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and mentor junior staff.
• System Intelligence and Machine Learning: Collaborate with data science teams to integrate intelligent agents and ML models for optimization.
