Job summary

FedEx is seeking a senior cloud architect to lead modernization of enterprise applications for Google Cloud on a hybrid basis in Memphis, TN and Pittsburgh, PA. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location and will work at the FedEx campus several times per week.

You will drive architecture, cloud readiness, security, and AI-assisted development, partnering with engineers and leadership to set standards and roadmaps that align with the enterprise cloud strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, modernizing, or migrating applications for Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong knowledge of Java-based enterprise applications and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Ability to make cloud-ready, scalable, secure, and maintainable architectural changes.
• Excellent ability to communicate complex designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, modernization, and technical evolution of enterprise apps for GCP.
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability, and cloud readiness of Java-based apps.
• Upgrade dependencies and remediate vulnerabilities to reduce technical debt and security risk.
• Drive AI-assisted development and define modernization roadmaps and standards.
