Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Claims Intern (Spring 2027) to support the Claims team in administrative and project tasks. The role is a hybrid work arrangement based in downtown Cincinnati with at least 50% in-office time and initial training in the office.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a college/university, pursuing Risk Management and Insurance, Business, or related fields, and available for at least 16 hours weekly, with strong MS Office skills and proactive

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Available to work a minimum of 16 hours per week during business hours, with full availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Demonstrates strong communication, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in both in-office and virtual environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide project and administrative support to Claims staff to help facilitate efficient claims operations.
• Manage incoming document mailboxes and add supporting documentation and vendor reports to electronic claim files.
• Review, enter, and process vendor invoices for payment within established authority levels.
• Prepare and distribute correspondence to appropriate parties.
• Learn and use claims systems, databases, and other business applications to complete assigned work.
• Maintain accurate and organized claim documentation and records.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders while supporting claims-related activities.
• Participate in special projects and additional assignments as needed.
