Great American Insurance Group is seeking an Associate Claims Attorney or Claims Attorney for its Executive Liability Division. The role is hybrid, based in Schaumburg or Chicago, IL, requiring a mix of in-office and remote work to support collaboration and business results.

The successful candidate will handle claim files, evaluate coverage and liability, and advise on strategies while maintaining compliance with laws and company procedures.

Qualifications

• JD (Juris Doctorate) and valid attorney license required.
• 2–6 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience in litigation, insurance coverage, or claims is a plus.
• Detail oriented and analytical with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze each claim file and evaluate coverage and liability.
• Develop and implement claim litigation and resolution strategies.
• Provide information to underwriters and reinsurers on claims trends.
• Ensure timely, compliant claims handling and documentation.
• Attend arbitrations or mediations as necessary.
• Support other functional areas as needed.
