Job summary

GEI’s Knoxville office is seeking a Project Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be part of a connected team of GEI professionals working across the country.

This individual will contribute to planning and implementation of projects in a variety of natural and urban settings. Under supervision of more senior staff, this individual will provide support to ongoing field and engineering design efforts.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of applicable professional experience.
• B.S. Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; MS considered a plus.
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license within four years.
• Ability to work in a team environment indoors and outdoors.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel on temporary work assignments.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical projects and assignments as an assistant project manager in coordination with senior project managers and support staff.
• Prepare detailed memoranda and reports on technical assignments and present technical information to peers and clients.
• Prepare design documents including drawings, technical specifications, basis of design documents, bid documents and project schedules.
• Travel to project sites and other offices as required, including overnight travel.
• Working knowledge of Federal and Local regulatory and permitting requirements is desirable.
• Computer modeling, CAD and GIS experience a plus
