Job summary

STV is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Fairfax, VA. This hybrid internship invites undergraduate and graduate students to learn from experienced engineers while contributing to meaningful projects.

A commitment of at least 3 days per week in the office and a minimum 3-month duration is preferred, with potential for full-time opportunities. You will assist in design, collaborate with architects and environmental engineers, and engage with clients and regulators to address

Qualifications

This internship requires pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or equivalent.
Preferred candidates have knowledge of civil engineering software tools and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing civil engineering projects from conceptualization through to completion.
Collaborate with architects, environmental engineers, and stakeholders to integrate project elements.
Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project-related issues.
Support feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments.
Prepare technical reports, narratives, and development applications.
Contribute to engineering designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or Open Roads Designer.
Learn and apply current engineering standards and procedures.
Assist with technical proposals and documentation for projects.
