Job summary

Tetra Tech in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Civil Engineer to support land development and site engineering projects in the AEC environment, performing civil design, site grading, drainage, and utility design with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires a B.S. in civil engineering with 5–7 years of experience, Revit proficiency, and MS Office skills; a valid driver’s license is required. This is a hybrid role with 40% office, 20% site visits, and 40% remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with 5-7 years of experience.
• Site design experience includes site grading, stormwater and utility design.
• Ability to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Revit, and good knowledge of industry software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Active and clear driver’s license, including a successful clearance of a Motor Vehicle history check.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil design and site development tasks for residential, commercial, and industrial engineering projects.
• Support land development and site improvement projects through site feasibility analyses, grading design, drainage analysis, utility design, and site layout preparation.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, and construction documents in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to coordinate civil design elements and integrate them with other project disciplines.
• Manage assigned tasks to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards while working effectively under tight deadlines.
• Respond to design comments and incorporate revisions based on internal reviews, client feedback, and regulatory agency requirements.
• Execute work in accordance with internal quality procedures, applicable codes, legislation, and industry standards to ensure project compliance and technical excellence.
• Actively pursue continuous learning opportunities to maintain a high degree of technical knowledge and professional competency in structural engineering.
• Promote and maintain a culture of safety by working in a safe manner at all times and promptly reporting all health and safety incidents or concerns.
• Perform additional tasks as required to support project goals, team objectives, and company initiatives.
