Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Child Development Facilitator & Parent Educator to empower families through child development guidance, parenting education, and workshops. The role blends direct work with children and parent sessions within a hybrid setup, including on-site Paarl activities and remote content development.

Qualifications

• A degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working with children and families focusing on development and education.
• Strong understanding of child development stages (infancy through adolescence).
• Experience in facilitating workshops and adult education is essential.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.
• Proficiency in developing educational materials and utilizing technology for remote sessions.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Paarl, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate age-appropriate developmental activities for children in group or individual settings.
• Conduct workshops and provide one-on-one coaching for parents on child behavior, milestones, and positive discipline.
• Assess children's developmental progress and identify areas needing support or intervention.
• Develop educational materials and resources for parents and caregivers.
• Collaborate with social workers and therapists to provide comprehensive family support.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
• Promote early learning and healthy family dynamics within the community.
• Stay updated on current research and best practices in child development and parenting education.
• Organize and promote community events focused on child and family well-being.
• Advocate for the needs of children and families within the organization and the broader community.
