Job summary

General Motors seeks a Diagnostics Technical Specialist to support the development, calibration, and validation of chassis control systems. You will apply diagnostic expertise to identify issues, drive corrective actions, and deliver robust customer-ready features on development vehicles and test benches.

The role requires hands-on testing, collaboration with controls engineers and software teams, and the ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, computer, automotive engineering or related technical field.
• Experience with vehicle diagnostics, fault isolation and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with CAN-based communication and diagnostic concepts.
• Ability to work in hands-on development and testing environments, with travel and non-standard hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on diagnostics support for chassis control systems and plan/test diagnostic troubleshooting on development vehicles and test environments.
• Collaborate with controls and software engineers to reproduce issues and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Create repeatable test procedures and diagnostic methods for vehicle investigations.
• Mentor new calibration engineers on diagnostics strategies and document standard work.
