University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) seeks a CESM Software Engineer II to modernize and optimize the earth system model across architectures, including GPUs. You will profile, refactor, and enhance software while collaborating with scientists and engineers in a hybrid work setting in Boulder, CO.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in computer science or related field and 4–8 years of relevant experience; familiarity with MPI/OpenMP/OpenACC is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field and 4–8 years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
• Proven ability to identify performance bottlenecks via profiling, testing, and code analysis.
• Experience with software modernization, refactoring, and current development standards.

Responsibilities
