Qualifications

• 2+ years acute care hospital clinical RN experience or medical graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification (CCDS, CDIP)
• Experience communicating & working closely with Physicians
• Proficiency using a PC in a Google environment and Electronic Medical Records
• Willing to work weekend coverage, Fri - Tue, 8 hours days
• Willing to be onsite at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Las Vegas on a hybrid schedule

Responsibilities

• Provides CDI program oversight and day-to-day CDI implementation for inpatient records
• Identifies gaps in clinical documentation to ensure accurate code assignment and risk adjustment
• Collaborates with providers and healthcare teams to improve documentation reflecting treatment and diagnoses
• Utilizes Optum CDI 3D technology to improve data quality and revenue integrity
• Educates physicians and clinicians on documentation requirements and chart reviews
• Leads and participates in regular meetings with HIM Coding Professionals to discuss DRGs and coding questions
• Engages with Care Coordination and Quality Management to spearhead CDI opportunities
