Job summary

Jacobs Energy & Power unit in Denver seeks an experienced CAD Designer to support high‑voltage transmission and distribution substation projects. You will apply drafting standards and CAD tools while collaborating with engineers and designers in a global team to deliver concepts through construction.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years drafting experience for electrical utility or substation projects, strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, and familiarity with 3D modeling tools such as Plant 3D or Revit,

Qualifications

Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of drafting and design experience for electrical utility or substation projects.
Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
Experience with Plant 3D, Revit or other 3D Modeling Software.
Experience developing physical substation drawings for transmission and distribution.
Strong understanding of substation layouts, grounding, and conduit systems.
Experience using ProjectWise and Autodesk Forma for docs.
Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Establish CAD project environments and maintain drawing standards.
Provide CAD leadership and guidance to project teams.
Collaborate with diverse engineering disciplines to meet client needs.
Support and engage with Global Integrated Delivery teams for project outcomes.
