Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a CAD Designer to perform advanced design and drafting for high‑voltage transmission and distribution substation projects. You will apply drafting standards and CAD tech while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, delivering design deliverables from concept to construction.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of drafting experience for electrical utility projects and strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, plus experience with Plant 3D or Revit.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years drafting and design experience on electrical utility or substation projects.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D; experience with Plant 3D and Revit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish CAD project environments and maintain drawing standards.
• Provide CAD leadership and technical guidance to project teams and junior drafters.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality design deliverables.
• Support teams with design optimization using digital technologies.
