Job summary

VY Systems in Alpharetta, Georgia is seeking a Linux Engineer / Admin to own enterprise Linux server provisioning, kernel tuning, security hardening, automated patch management, and high-availability cluster maintenance in a hybrid C2C engagement.

You will work with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS, develop Bash/Python automation, config container platforms, and collaborate with DevOps and client IT teams to ensure uptime and security compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.
5+ years of enterprise Linux administration and infrastructure engineering.
Proven experience with RHEL/CentOS administration and troubleshooting.
Shell scripting (Bash) and Python automation proficiency.
Experience with virtualization (VMware ESXi), containers (Docker), and cloud infrastructure.
Security hardening, IAM, SSH key management, and CIS benchmarks knowledge.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Legal work authorization and local residency for hybrid C2C in Alpharetta, GA.

Responsibilities

Architect, deploy, secure, and maintain enterprise Linux OS in hybrid environments.
Monitor performance and storage; manage LVM/NFS/SAN and file systems.
Develop automation scripts (Bash/Python) for provisioning and user mgmt.
Perform automated patch management and kernel updates.
Configure and troubleshoot networking services (DNS/DHCP/NTP/iptables).
Monitor logs with Prometheus, Grafana, and Nagios.
Collaborate with DevOps, DBAs, and client IT stakeholders.
Maintain documentation, inventories, and disaster recovery runbooks.
