Job summary

The Community Group in Lawrence, MA seeks a Director of Budget and Analysis to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the organization and its programs. You will guide fiscal strategy, monitor performance, and provide insights to senior leadership, ensuring compliance with policies.

This hybrid role requires strong accounting knowledge, experience with Sage Intacct, and collaboration with program directors to align budgets with school and community initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, or related functions preferred.
• Knowledge of nonprofit, grant, and/or government-funded accounting practices preferred.
• Proficiency with financial management systems and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and directs annual budget at organization and program levels.
• Upload and maintain budgets to Sage Intacct.
• Analyze monthly budget vs forecast and report variances to CFO and Director of Accounting.
• Develop budgetary policies, procedures, and tools to support planning and forecasting.
• Create dashboards and reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to review budget proposals and monitor expenditures.
