Job summary

MUFG in New York City seeks a bilingual Jr Relationship Manager to service existing portfolios and develop banking business for Japanese corporate clients. You will support cross-border relationships and coordinate with MUFG offices globally. The role requires 3+ years of banking experience in the U.S.

and international markets, plus fluency in Japanese and English. You’ll work four days onsite and one day remote with a strong focus on relationship management and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business / Finance / Economics required.
• 3+ years of professional banking experience; U.S. and international market preferred.
• Bilingual in Japanese and English is required.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communications, business writing, editing and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products.

Responsibilities

• Develop a well-balanced strategic and operational business plan aligned with RM guidelines.
• Face customers to maintain relationships, understand their businesses and banking needs.
• Develop new business opportunities in loans, deposits, transaction banking, FX and derivatives.
• Negotiate terms to maximize profitability and minimize risk.
• Prepare lending proposals and pitch to prospective clients.
• Promote cross-selling across the Bank’s services and support deal teams.
• Structure loan financing based on risk assessments and obtain credit approvals.
• Coordinate with Product Office in the U.S., Headquarters in Tokyo, and MUFG offices worldwide.
