Job summary

Swoop Technologies is seeking a backend-focused engineer for a hybrid role based in Minneapolis/St. Paul or Washington, DC who can work in-office 3+ days per week.

You’ll develop APIs for SwoopOS, build SDKs for internal and external use, author Python packages, and collaborate with firmware, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver a scalable platform. Requirements include a Bachelor's in CS, 3+ years in backend, strong Python, production Kubernetes, and eligibility for US security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience.
• 3+ years in backend software development and API design.
• Proficient Python coding and understanding of data models.
• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Security standards knowledge; eligible for US clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and build new services and features interfacing with firmware, frontend, and infrastructure teams.
• Design and build SDKs for internal and external use; collaborate with 3rd parties.
• Author Python packages used across multiple services.
• Ensure high availability and SLAs across the Kubernetes-based production stack.
• Tune data storage for scale and real-time streaming availability.
