Job summary

Detroit Labs, LLC is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect in Detroit for a client team in the energy sector. You will lead cloud modernization on Azure, migrate large internal apps, and drive resilient, scalable architectures with IaC tooling and strong cross-functional collaboration.

You will shape security, networking, and DR strategies while guiding a small, senior-level delivery team in a hybrid, in-office setting three days per week. This role emphasizes ownership and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing and implementing enterprise cloud solutions.
• 5+ years with Azure and migrations of enterprise apps.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred).
• Leads or contributes to production-scale cloud migrations.
• Designs high-availability, fault-tolerant and DR architectures.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM.
• Familiar with monitoring, logging and observability tooling.
• Able to solve complex problems with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a senior team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement resilient cloud architectures for enterprise apps.
• Lead migrations and scale architectures for high traffic and failure scenarios.
• Improve availability, DR and resiliency across migrated apps.
• Build and maintain IaC using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
• Automate applications and avoid manual console operations.
• Collaborate with developers, SREs, DevOps, QA and stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud platform challenges.
• Create architecture docs, diagrams, and standards.
• Mentor and transfer knowledge to internal cloud teams.
