Job summary

Silicontek Inc. is seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to design secure, scalable cloud architectures on AWS for clinical, safety and medical functions. You will own end-to-end data platforms and ensure compliance in pharma/biotech environments.

In this hybrid role based in South San Francisco, you will lead architecture discussions, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate with Pharmacovigilance and Clinical teams to translate business needs into robust technical designs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT with 5+ years hands-on AWS Solutions/Cloud Architect.
• Pharma/biotech experience (top-tier preferred).
• Hands-on with EHR/clinical data, pharmacovigilance, medical affairs or clinical/R&D data.
• Strong skills across core AWS compute, storage, data, integration, security and networking services.
• Working knowledge of GxP, HIPAA and 21 CFR Part 11 in validated environments.
• Hands-on Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical and business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end AWS solutions using S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EMR/Databricks, API Gateway, Step Functions and related services.
• Build data lake and warehouse architectures for clinical, R&D, EHR and real-world data.
• Define IAM, encryption, networking and controls meeting GxP and HIPAA requirements.
• Drive Terraform/CloudFormation standards and CI/CD automation.
• Lead architecture reviews for reliability, performance and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs, Clinical and R&D teams to translate needs into designs.
• Guide engineering teams and produce architecture documents.
