Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking an Automation and Controls Process Development Engineer to develop new manufacturing processes and oversee automation workstreams within capital projects. Hybrid work arrangement with travel 40-50% typical; Charlotte/GA/NC locations preferred.

You will drive safer, more efficient production by automating tasks and integrating robotics and control systems across multiple plants. You will collaborate with Process SME Engineers, OC IT, Capital Team, R&D and Quality Teams to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation, or related field.
• Experience in industrial automation, robotics, and control systems integration.
• Minimum 3 years in manufacturing/technical environment; heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of PLC/SCADA and industrial networking.
• Lean manufacturing, TPM and process optimization knowledge.
• Automation software/tools: Rockwell, Siemens; scripting with Python.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation initiatives with plant operations to eliminate 3Ds and improve safety, quality and productivity.
• Design, prototyping, integration and testing of robotics and automation systems.
• Develop and maintain automation standards and documentation.
• Collaborate with IT, Capital, R&D and Quality teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resources; ensure safety and cybersecurity compliance.
• Provide coaching to process/technical teams and drive site-wide process stability.
