This hybrid, full-time role handles diverse personal injury defense matters and represents insurance carriers and businesses through all stages of litigation.

The ideal candidate is admitted to the Texas Bar, has 1–2+ years in insurance defense, and strong research and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
• 1+ year insurance defense experience; 2 years preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical and case management skills.
• Experience handling insurance defense or general liability/premises/personal injury matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 40-60 active litigation matters, primarily involving personal injury and premises liability.
• Represent insurance carriers, businesses, and other clients in civil litigation and insurance defense matters.
• Handle cases through case evaluation, discovery, depositions, motions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, legal briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies with partners and the litigation team.

About the Firm

A well-established law firm is seeking Insurance Defense Attorneys to join its growing litigation team in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with experience in personal injury defense, premises liability, and general insurance defense litigation who are looking to advance their careers while working on a diverse caseload.

The firm is hiring multiple attorneys to support both team growth and existing business needs. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and handle a range of insurance defense matters from case evaluation through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 40-60 active litigation matters, primarily involving personal injury and premises liability.


• Represent insurance carriers, businesses, and other clients in civil litigation and insurance defense matters.


• Handle cases throughout various stages of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, depositions, motions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.


• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, legal briefs, and other litigation-related documents.


• Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies in collaboration with partners and the litigation team.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Bar license in good standing


• At least 1 year of insurance defense experience; 2 years of insurance defense experience is preferred.


• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case management skills.


• Experience handling insurance defense or general liability defense or premises liability or personal injury defense matters.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 - $180,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
