Job summary

The State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections seeks an Associate Medical Director to provide professional medical services, supervise physicians and nurse practitioners, and develop treatment protocols and patient workflows across regional institutions. This role also involves on-call duties and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to implement medical policies.

The candidate must hold a current Wisconsin medical license, board certification in family/internal/preventive/emergency

Qualifications

• Providing direct care to patients (examinations, recommend treatment options, order lab work/treatments, etc.)
• Supervising, leading, and/or overseeing the work of others (e.g. training, advising, reviewing work, etc.)
• Providing clinical supervision and consultation to medical staff

Responsibilities

• The Associate Medical Director provides direct care at other institutions, and on-call duties, as directed by the Medical Director.
• This role supervises the physicians and nurse practitioners at designated regional institutions.
• The Associate Medical Director collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to formulate and implement medical policies and workflows at the unit level.
