Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated is seeking an Associate Director of Supply Chain to lead upstream supply strategy for the Pain portfolio and support end-to-end strategic initiatives. This hybrid role requires three days in Boston per week and emphasizes scenario planning, ERP systems, and executive communication.

The successful candidate will align supply chain strategy with program objectives, enable informed decision-making, and ensure continuity of supply in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, supply chain, manufacturing operations, business, or a related field
• 8+ years of industry experience with progressively increasing scope and responsibility
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and planning/content management platforms

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the upstream supply chain strategy in partnership with cross-functional leaders
• Partner with Program Lead to prepare analyses, recommendations, and presentations
• Support U.S. S&OP planning and liaison across Commercial, Finance, and Operations
• Communicate supply plans and updates to leadership
• Drive data-informed decision-making through scenario planning and demand/supply balancing
• Manage order lifecycle, PO execution, and logistics coordination
• Oversee inventory management and annual physical counts
• Support supply chain risk management and strategic sourcing initiatives
