Job summary

Milliman in the Atlantic Region Property and Casualty practice seeks an Associate Actuary to drive complex client projects, perform data manipulation in Excel, and apply R for statistical modeling within a hybrid Boston, MA or Burlington, VT office. An ACAS credential is required, along with at least 10 years of professional actuarial experience, and mastery of MS Excel and Word.

Remote work may be available for senior candidates, with occasional travel nationwide.

Qualifications

• ACAS credential required at time of application.
• Bachelor’s degree with quantitative coursework.
• MS Excel and Word proficiency.
• Mastery of R for statistical modeling.
• At least 10 years of actuarial full-time work experience in relevant topics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of projects and guide junior staff.
• Write reports and support client communication.
• Interact with client and vendor partners as needed.
• Direct, train and supervise Actuarial Analysts.
• Ensure quality control, risk management, and peer reviews.
• Participate in marketing opportunities including publications and presentations.
• Present findings to peers and clients.
• Draft detailed reports and exhibits for internal/external use.
• Maintain detailed data documentation for projects.
• Implement process improvements for better results.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principals.
