Job summary

Topco Associates is seeking an Associate Accounting Manager in Itasca, IL for a hybrid role (3 in-office days, 2 virtual). You will lead complex general accounting activities, support month-end close, and strengthen internal controls.

The position emphasizes mentoring staff and cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Tax, and Audit teams. Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 5–6 years of progressive accounting experience; CPA license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA license, CPA eligibility, or active pursuit of CPA is preferred.
• Five to six years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and external audit activities required.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Strong Excel skills and analytical abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Analyze financial results and communicate variances to leadership.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and proper documentation.
• Lead process improvement and internal control initiatives.
• Mentor staff accountants and support cross-functional collaboration.
