Job summary

MSU is seeking a Sponsored Programs Assistant Director to lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts and subcontracts with for-profit sponsors, ensuring full alignment with MSU policies, business practices, and applicable regulations.

The role oversees a contract development team, coordinates with principal investigators and compliance partners, and supports proposal management and accounting systems in a hybrid environment with at least two in-office days per week and occasional

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Administration.
Five to eight years in contract negotiation, supervision and management.
Juris Doctor with contract-law experience preferred.
Experience with university-for-profit relations and clinical trials is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts and subcontracts.
Oversee a contract development team and ensure compliance with policies.
Collaborate with PIs, research admins, and compliance partners to secure compliant agreements.
Coordinate with regulatory, financial management, and sponsored program teams.
