Job summary

SummitIG is seeking an Assistant Controller to partner with the VP of Finance & Controller in overseeing accounting operations for a REIT‑structured, capital-intensive network infrastructure business. This hybrid role blends technical accounting with hands‑on execution and growing staff, leading month‑end close, budgeting, tax compliance, and internal controls.

You will coordinate audits, generate lender reporting, manage multi‑state tax compliance, and support fund‑raising efforts as SummitIG

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred, or eligible.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with REITs and multi-state tax compliance is preferred.
• Experience with ASC 842 lessor accounting is a plus.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Supervise, review, and mentor accounting staff.
• Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and provide required documentation.
• Prepare lender reporting packages and debt covenant compliance certificates.
