Job summary

Jobot is seeking a permanent Assistant Controller in Elmira, NY to join a rapidly growing manufacturing company and collaborate with the CFO and senior management. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning to support growth.

You will oversee general ledger activities, implement controls, and help prepare budgets and audits while contributing to a dynamic, long-term success plan. Hybrid schedule offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in Manufacturing.
• Expertise in QuickBooks and other financial software.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and data-driven decision making.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with all levels.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and executive presence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial reports such as statements and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and standards.
• Guide financial decisions by applying policies to the economic landscape.
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
• Achieve budget objectives by analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
• Support year-end audits preparation.
• Assist implementing new accounting policies.
• Support internal control structures for accurate reporting.
• Assist with general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash management.
• Support CFO in recording, filing, and reporting transactions.
