Job summary

Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics seeks an Assistant Controller to lead financial reporting, controls, and compliance for the business unit. You will partner with senior leadership to support forecasting, cost analysis, and continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The role requires deep GAAP knowledge, strong accounting operations experience, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration in a government contracting setting. Hybrid schedule with multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, general ledger management, and financial analysis.
• Understanding of government regulations and reporting requirements.
• Ability to analyze financial results and communicate insights to leadership.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, and external reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting operations, reporting, controls, and compliance for the business unit.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports (daily, monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Ensure GAAP compliance and government regulatory reporting.
• Develop and improve accounting processes, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain general ledger, budgeting, cost allocation, and related subsystems.
