Job summary

Country Bank is seeking an Assistant Controller in Massachusetts to oversee investment accounting, regulatory reporting, and monthly close processes. You will coordinate ACL calculations, maintain the Sageworks model, and support audits while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial statements.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a hybrid work arrangement and a salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 4 years of related work experience in a financial institution required.
• GAAP knowledge and ability to research GAAP principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with core banking/accounting systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage investment accounting, including coordination of investment buys, monthly processing and reporting.
• Prepare/regulatory reporting including quarterly call report and FDIC/state reports.
• Coordinate ACL calculations and Sageworks model; create ad-hoc reports.
• Oversee liquidity and funding, including ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Support month-end close with journal entries and variance analyses.
• Administer GL system and SME for accounting department; participate in core system changes/tests.
• Assist in budgeting: model setup, variance analysis, and loading actuals.
• Assist with annual external audits and regulatory examinations; prepare schedules.
• Reconcile GL accounts; liaise with transaction-processing teams as needed.
• Handle wire processing tasks and respond to end-user/customer inquiries.
• Build relationships with customers and community; embody core values.
• Other duties as assigned.
