Job summary

Universal Language Service, Inc. is seeking experienced ASL interpreters for a hybrid role in South Sound/Pierce County, WA. The position combines in-person and remote interpreting with responsibilities in language access operations and workforce development.

Responsibilities include training on FaceTok and ULS scheduling platforms, coordinating appointments, and recruiter outreach. Candidates must hold a recognized ASL certification and have 5+ years of interpreting experience.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized ASL interpreting certification.
• Minimum five years of professional ASL interpreting experience.
• Strong expressive and receptive ASL proficiency.
• Knowledge of professional interpreting ethics, confidentiality, and language access practices.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with standard office technology and scheduling platforms.
• Ability to travel reliably between assigned customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, impartial, and professional ASL interpreting for scheduled on-site assignments and remote interpreting as needed.
• Travel to customer locations throughout the South Sound/Pierce County region.
• Assist with customer training and demonstrations on scheduling platforms and language access processes.
• Perform light administrative duties and support language access services per SOWs.
• Coordinate scheduling, documentation, and status updates with Scheduling and Operations teams.
• Support outreach, recruitment, and workforce development activities for interpreters.
