Job summary

International Game Technology in Chicago seeks an Art Lead I to guide the art team from concept to final production. You will create high-quality 2D and 3D artwork, animation, typography, and logos, ensuring visual consistency across projects.

You will mentor artists, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and shape the creative vision while solving design and technical challenges. Hybrid work from Chicago supports collaboration with the local studio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a graphic arts related field.
• Two to three years in 2D illustration, graphic design, animation, 3D art, or generalist art production.
• A strong portfolio showing 2D and/or 3D work; proficiency in Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator.
• Knowledge of animation principles, asset management, file organization, and product development processes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to take ownership, apply feedback, and deliver quality work on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead the art team within a land-based slot studio in Chicago, ensuring high-quality content aligned with art direction.
• Manage people, processes, and output to maintain consistency and excellence in visuals.
• Create high-quality visual content including illustrations, layouts, logos, typography, animation, 3D art, and character designs.
• Develop production-ready assets that meet creative direction and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement feedback and resolve challenges.
• Oversee project deliverables, timelines, and production files; contribute to pipeline improvements.
• Mentor less experienced artists and stay current with industry tools and trends.
