Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an Application Security Engineer to provide technical expertise across the AppSec platform portfolio. The role supports AppSec tooling, policy implementation, vulnerability analysis, false-positive validation, platform escalations, and developer enablement activities.

This is a hybrid contract position based in San Antonio, TX, with a pay range of $50.00–$55.00 per hour. Applicants should have hands-on experience with SAST, DAST, SCA, API security, IaC, and mobile security

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of Secure SDLC and AppSec practices.
• Hands-on experience with SAST, SCA, API Security, DAST, IaC, and Mobile Security testing.
• Experience administering and supporting AppSec platforms and tooling.
• Experience conducting vulnerability validation, root-cause analysis, and false-positive assessments.
• Experience providing secure coding guidance and remediation support to development teams.
• Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated security controls.
• Experience leveraging APIs, automation, and AI-assisted workflows to improve security operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise across the Application Security platform portfolio.
• Support AppSec tooling and policy implementation.
• Perform vulnerability analysis and false-positive validation.
• Handle platform escalations and remediation guidance.
• Enable developers with secure coding practices and tooling.
